The park ranger at Lake Meredith, after seeing the K2R2, highly recommended that we go to Mills Canyon in the Kiowa National Grasslands and administered by the Cibola National Forest. He told us that there was a rim campground and a canyon campground and that we definitely had the vehicle to get down into the canyon. We decided to check it out and it was everything he told us it would be. It is a beautiful remote campground situated in the Canadian River Canyon with stunning views and interesting ruins of the Mills Ranch and orchards all located about 6 miles down a winding and steep road. The first night there were 3 other campers but the second night we had the place to ourselves.

Make sure and check out the video below that David took from the road of the campground showing the river and the surrounding valley!
