We continued our exploration down the Atlantic coast by visiting Assateague Island. The island has a state park, the Assateague National Seashore, and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge all along its shore. We opted to stop in at the wildlife refuge in order to see the Assateague lighthouse and perhaps get a glimpse of the Assateague ponies and the Delmarva Peninsula fox squirrel both of which we did see!
