President Calvin Coolidge Historic Site

Our next stop in the bucolic countryside of Vermont was in Plymouth Notch, the birthplace and childhood home of the 30th president of the United States. The historic village appears much as it did in Coolidge’s lifetime. Coolidge took the oath of office in the parlor of the family home on August 3, 1923 at 2:47 AM after the unexpected death of President Warren G. Harding. Coolidge was known for his quiet demeanor, industrious work ethic, and upright manner so typical of a small town Vermont upbringing.

  1. Nice place. I see a lot of collectible “stuff” I wish I had. Makes me want to go to an antique mall.
