Our destination the next morning was to the tallest point in Massachusetts, Mount Greylock. After an 8 mile winding drive we reached the summit. The Appalachian Trail crosses through the area.

We explored the War Memorial Tower, took in the views, and stepped inside the Bascom Lodge. It was windy and cold at the top, I can only imagine what the winters must be like!

Afterwards we headed on to Quechee State Park but along the way had stops at a covered bridge that had the longest span for a covered bridge in Vermont, the Grafton Village Store, the Vermont Country Store, and the Kissing Bridge.

I am so glad they have been able to preserve that covered bridge. I know that many have been lost over the decades.
Those are some cool structures. What a staircase. The pic of the van in front of the village store is quite a juxtaposition–one might argue an anachronism given the state of preservation. Looks like good fun all around. Keep at it!
