As we continued along our route we came to not 1 but 2 ice cream places on backcountry roads. Mind you, these places are not manned. It is strictly self serve and the honor system is how you pay. Of course we stopped at both and filled the little freezer in the K2R2 fridge full!



The Papa Beans Creamery also was a producer of Maple syrup.







We headed North getting ever closer to Mount Washington, the highest peak in New Hampshire.

Wow! 57 trains a day. I bet that was a bustling place in its heyday. Not anymore. The passenger train is now just a bit of nostalgia. Any kind of self serve help your self business would never survive down here….if you know what I mean
