Chiricahua NM & Saguaro NP

Well, we headed over into Arizona hoping to find warmer weather and this is what we got. We camped in the Bonita Campground in the monument and awoke to snow. We headed out on a 5 mile trail anyway and actually the snowfall was pretty as we hiked to the old homestead. The second day we did an 8 mile hike up to the Heart of Rocks in the monument. The spires and pinnacles formed by a long ago volcano are a sight to behold. We also stayed in a campground north of Tucson and there we also awoke to a dusting of snow before our visit to Saguaro National Park. Alas, it’s about time for us to take a turn back east and make our way back to Texas. At least the weather should be warmer!
