New Mexico Loop Cont.

We continued on to the Bluff Springs Campground, another free dispersed site in the Lincoln National Forest. The waterfall is a popular day use destination area and the site sits in a beautiful valley. David said it reminded him of the Klondike Gold Rush trail but at the end of the day the area empties out and you are left with the sounds of the babbling creek formed by the falls and the mooing and bellowing of the free range cows. The aspens were quaking on the hillside above our campsite and again we enjoyed multiple sightings of various birds including Great Horned owls, turkeys, Townsends Warblers, Hairy Woodpeckers, and the ever present dark-eyed juncos.
