As we continued our way south though Virginia on to North Carolina we hopped on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The two-lane 469 mile road rides the crest of the Blue Ridge dipping into hollows and climbing to heights more than 6000 feet in the Appalachians. We drove a portion getting on around Roanoke, VA and getting off near the Blue Ridge Music Center. We had awakened to a morning of a surprising snowfall and had a nice slow, solitary drive along the parkway. It was really magical driving through the snowy landscape and woods!

Wow. That is my kind of territory. Glad I get to see it through your posts. That Mabry Mill picture would make a great puzzle
