Loading & Our First Night

Before we could get started loading we had to make an early morning run back to Sportsmobile to retrieve the power cords, water hose and grey water hose that they had forgotten to put in K2R2 the day before.
Returning to the Coates Cozy Cottage we set to work loading K2R2 while Jason smoked sausages, Boudin, and baby back ribs.
Loading took two days and it was hot and hectic. Everywhere you looked life was struggling to stay hydrated. The plants, animals, insects, and humans were all looking eagerly to the sky for relief. Working around the pavilion was fraught with danger from buzzing insects: wasps, yellow jackets, and honey bees looking to get a drink off the floor of the pavilion where some wading pool water had spilled on concrete floor as Avi and Bryce played happily in the water. It’s July in Texas!

The next day we hit the road and spent our first official night in K2R2 at Krause Springs in Spicewood, Texas.

Then it was on to The Brown’s……one of the Brown’s checking out the all important porta potty!
