The campsites at Taconic State Park were suffering from a weekend of busy mostly New York campers. They love their tents and pop-up canopies! The area around their campsites quite often looks like a suitcase has exploded. All sorts of paracord tree hangings, coolers and other gear surround the picnic table that looks like it will need a good pressure washing when they depart. All of this in spite of the numerous bear warnings posted throughout the park. Our site was alive with song and chipping sparrows foraging along the ground in the aftermath of the previous campers debris field.
The bikes were unloaded for the first time and used around the campground often. David did a quick check of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail just outside the park entrance around dusk in order to see when the bike shop would open the next morning so we could get a helmet for Rebecca.

That day we biked a 5 mile cruise followed by a scoop of peanut butter cookie dough ice cream at the old train depot.

It was so much fun we took an evening ride later that day which was following a hike to the highest falls in Massachusetts, Bash Bish Falls.

What beautiful country up there. I wish I could find me a full railroad signal setup like that. Would be a great addition to my garden area
