Heading North!

After parting ways we started our trip north to New York. When we arrived In Tennessee for visits with family, winter decided to visit us. We had a good 3 or 4 days of frozen precipitation which made for an icy winter wonderland. We enjoyed the birds feeding in the backyard, building puzzles with Mama, David and Bill smoked some meats, and did the usual list of chores Bill had lined up.

Then it was on to Martin to visit Tom & Patty and to do a little work on the Nova. The plan for this visit was to try and get the Nova to start up. Success!! It was pretty exciting to see Tom & David roll out of the driveway and down the street!

Then we headed out toward New York. We stopped at Fort Boonesborough State Park in Kentucky for one night, one of the few state parks open for winter on our trek north. We then landed at the Smoke Hole Resort Cabins in West Virginia for 2 nights. We have stopped here before because we enjoy the trout fishing that the resort offers. We had a nice day to get out and catch a few fish.

  1. Lots of good memories of tooling around in the old red Nova including two epic western trips, one with Larry and Keith Bishop and one with Mark Bagley. Glad to see it running again. Russell
