We made a return visit to Tea Creek Campground (we had previously camped here last November) because we really like the national forest site which is situated on Tea Creek in a scenic forest in the West Virginia hills. Our site was right on the creek and we were lulled to sleep at night by the sounds of the water flowing by.
The next day we made the push to Tennessee stopping at several overlooks, one which had baby swallows who had just fledged from the nest that we spotted on a branch. We stopped at an historic country store complete with a covered bridge dubbed the “Kissing Bridge” where Paka did indeed plant a smooch on Kiki! We landed at Big South Fork River Recreation Area on the Kentucky/Tennessee border for a couple of nights. The next few weeks we’ll be visiting various family members and heading on down to Texas to await baby Lily’s arrival!
