Aguirre Springs

We headed into New Mexico from Texas hoping to encounter a little warmer weather. Winter is not quite ready to give up its grip just yet. Nonetheless we found a gem of a Bureau of Land Management Campground area and holed up there for a couple of days. The campground was nestled up against some picturesque mountains with a dusting of snow. The first day was very windy and we stayed in camp and caught up on all our blogs. But the second day the winds died down and we were able to do the 4.5 mile hike up into the mountains we could see from our campsite. It took us about 3 and a half hours and afterwards we headed to Hatch, NM and went to Sparky’s for their famous green hatch chili cheeseburger and chocolate milkshake!

We were so hungry we forgot to take a picture of our food but it was good!!!
